Born in Melbourne, Australia, Daniel studied at the National School of Design at Swinburne University where he received a BA (Hons). Upon graduation he commenced work at Melbourne-based Fabio Ongarato Design where he remained for 5 years, in 2012, in need of a change of scenery, he emigrated to New York. Prior to Base he worked at 2×4 and Noë & Associates where he worked with a variety of clients and collaborators including The Broad Foundation, Coca-Cola, Culture Shed, Design Within Reach, Novartis, Pérez Art Museum Miami and Surface Magazine.
Daniel believes all great work begins with relationships and is grounded in conceptual thinking . His work aims to engage emotionally and intellectually through a balance of investigation and chance. He has taught courses, lectured and led workshops at his alma mater, and is a frequent design and thesis critic at Columbia University and Parsons The New School for Design. He continues to work with cultural institutions back home and maintains a (semi)regular output of self-initiated projects.
