Fumi Congan, Budget and Production Director, Fabian Jean Villanueva, PR Manager, Dimitri Jeurissen, CEO & Partner, and Thierry Brunfaut, Creative Director & Partner represented Base at the event that took place at the Knokke Casino.
The Creative Club of Belgium includes all roles involved in advertising, ranging from the advertiser to the copywriter to the art director, including commercial agents, art buyers, photographers, web designers, directors, producers, etc.
The main annual activity is the organisation of the CCB Awards, which are open to both agencies and individuals. The CCB jury members are drawn from the best creative talent in Belgium. After the judging, each item of work may be awarded a Gold, Silver or Bronze Award. One Grand Prix may then be selected from all the Gold Awards winners. In addition, the CCB President can decide to honour a personality in the advertising world by granting him/her the “President’s Award” which, together with the other Awards, is presented at the annual CCB Gala attended by some 1200 people (www.galaccb.be).
Until this year, the Top CCB Awards were very ‘pub only’ oriented. Today, Thierry Brunfaut has been asked to represent the Design & Branding category as the president and member of the jury. Other members of the same category are Frédéric Vanhorenbeke, Founder & Creative Director at Coast Agency, Michel Van Dijck, Creative Director at Air, Ben Boliau, Creative Director at Mirror Mirror agency, Fred Van Hoof at AD & Photographer, Koenraad Lefevre, Creative Director at Duval Guillaume, Olivier Vandervliet, graphic designer at Triangle books and Ines Cox, independant graphic designer.
Responsible for rewarding inspiring, creative excellence; the CCB Awards juries are comprised of carefully selected members of creative communications industries.
Base had the honor of being invited for the first time at the CCB Gala Award in 2015 where they were nominated for several categories.
This year, some wonderful projects have been awarded by the CCB. But the basics have been addressed: the clear rules (if the author of a project was in the jury, he or she was out of the room and unable vote), talent, and level. Thierry Brunfaut hopes that 2016 will be the year of confirmation.
Base is pleased to announce that they won two of the awards that they were nominated for. They won a Gold Award in the Design Category for “Best Branding” for The Olympic Museum. The team involved in this project is Thierry Brunfaut – Partner and Creative Director, Aurore Lechien – Senior Designer , Thomas Léon – Designer, Jasmine De Bruycker – Strategist and Copywriter, Sander Vermeulen – Design Director, Anthony Franklin – Partner and Design Director GVA, Matteo Venet – Senior Designer GVA and – Fabian Jean Villanueva – PR manager.
Secondly, they won a Silver Award for “Best Poster”, also in the Design Category, for their poster for La Monnaie/De Munt, which consist of 7 posters representing the seven deadly sins. The team involved in this project is Pierre Daras – Art Director at Base Design in collaboration with the artist Pierre Debusschere.
